About
Welcome to ichijiku cafe & living 珈琲無花果, a unique gem nestled in the vibrant Datong District of Taipei. This quaint café offers not just a place to enjoy fine coffee, but an experience steeped in care and attention to detail. Known for its 手沖咖啡 (hand-dripped coffee) and an array of delectable desserts, ichijiku captures the essence of slow living in a bustling city.
As you step inside, the cool ambiance draws you into a world where time seems to slow down. Despite the cafe's small size, it exudes a cozy charm, making it an ideal spot to unwind. The owners and baristas are not only passionate about coffee but also eager to guide you through an incredible selection of coffee beans, ensuring a personalized experience. Each cup of coffee is crafted with precision, a ritual that some patrons have joked makes them feel like they're in the presence of vampires—an amusing reference to the no photography policy that encourages you to savor the moment rather than capture it.
Reviews praise the café for its superior hand-poured coffee and inviting atmosphere. A customer mentioned how the barista takes their time with each brew, which results in a truly delicious product. This slow approach means that if you're in a rush, ichijiku may not be the right fit for you. However, if you're seeking a laid-back environment to enjoy quality drinks and desserts, this is the place to be.
The highlight here is undoubtedly the filter coffee, which many have noted to be leagues above typical offerings. Whether you choose to trust the expert recommendations from the friendly staff or explore on your own, you’re guaranteed a memorable coffee journey. Pair your coffee with a sweet treat for a complete experience that will leave your taste buds singing.
In a city filled with options, ichijiku cafe & living 珈琲無花果 stands out not merely for its offerings, but the ethos behind its operation—slow down, enjoy the moment, and let each sip transport you. If you find yourself in the Dadaocheng area, make it a point to visit. You won't just leave with a caffeine buzz, but with a newfound appreciation for the art of coffee.
“ Nice cozy cafe with the loveliest owners. They are passionate about all things coffee & very patiently explained and introduced coffee beans based on my preferences. Had a nice chat with them! ”
“ Very high quality pour over coffee. Small shop can be easily full, lucky I visit here in week day and enjoyed a good surprise. ”
“ Cool coffee place in hipster part of town that we learned about from a random man on the Taipei MRT. Although we were for suspicious of his recommendation he proved entirely correct and we enjoyed our time here. There are no pictures as you see because they don’t allow photography inside the store for some strange reason. The barista likes to take his time to make the coffee which makes it really delicious, but don’t come here if you’re in a hurry if you like to chill out and this is a cool place to be and we recommend you pay them a visit. We suspect that they might be vampire because they don’t allow you to take photos but they won’t show up in them, so take photos that your own risk. ”
“ The shop owner is a nice person. Coffee is delicious. Nice to stop by and get some rest. ”
“ Serving filtered coffee. I’m not a coffee expert but the waitress explained to me the different beans and asked which one I want. I trusted her judgement and the coffee was delicious. The only filtered coffee I drink is when I’m at my mom’s and this coffee was leagues above. If you want to try not your typical coffee this is the place to go. The owners just know their stuff. Would drink again 10/10 ”
“ Offers an interesting selection of beans for hand dip coffee. Enjoy the casual and free vibe, a nice cozy coffee shop. ”
“ A very cute spot with well curated decor and a fun selection of accessories and art for sale. I got my first milk tea in Taiwan here and it was perfectly strong and deliciously creamy! They were able to make it vegan with oat milk (There is a vegan tax of NTD$10 for oat, but that is pretty normal here.) Signs say no photos, so be sure to respect that! ”
“ Happened to stumble across this cute and relaxing cafe after shopping around Dadaocheng area. Owners were pleasantly friendly, which was followed by great tasting quality coffee and dessert. Would definitely recommend checking out this cafe if you happen to be in the area. ”
